The potentially explosive facilities of Russia’s largest oil-chemical plant were initially designed on improper piles in subsiding soils Unlike Atommash (City of Volgodonsk, Russia), the emergency in Budennovsk was averted at the stage of construction, and in some cases the pile construction was rejected. It is recommended that the fundament be examined after 40 years of being used in aggressive sulfate ground waters and increased seismic activity of the site.

The item provides a view on the results obtained from an empirical study of women’s position in the stratification structure of the present-day society in terms of the labour activity; the study was held I the North-Caucasus Federal District in 2009, 2012 - 2013, and 2014. The results showed that as far as the area of employment is concerned there is still some discrimination of women due to their being more vulnerable as compared to men, while their educational and professional capacity may be similar.
