EFFECT OF SANCTIONS ON THE RUSSIAN BANKING SECTOR

Abstract

In the context of integration and globalization of the modern world on the national economy is influenced by political and economic factors. The behavior of the main partners in respect of Russia plays a significant role in the development of the leading sectors of the economy. The article discusses the concept ofsanctions and their application in the history of the world economy. The causes and consequences of the introduction of Western sanctions in 2014-2015, their influence on the activities of Russian commercial banks, assesses the performance of the banking sector as a whole, as well as a brief forecast of the further functioning of the banking system of the Russian Federation.
