PROSPECTS FOR THE USE OF PNEUMATIC BATTERIES IN WIND POWER INSTALLATIONS

Abstract

In the conditions of energy consumption growth and energy saving policy of the state, the use of wind power plants has serious prospects. However, the main difficulty in using wind energy is the issue of energy storage. The use of pneumatic batteries partly solves this issue, reducing the cost of accumulation and increasing the degree of use of windflow. One of the key moments of the efficiency of using pneumatic accumulators in wind power installations is a rigid kinematic connection with a compressor, which makes it possible to use wind potential at a wide range of speeds, without the need to slow down a wind turbine at speeds exceeding the calculated value for classical wind power installations. Apart from that, the use of several receivers at different pressures allows for more efficient energy storage.
