Prospects for the development and improvement of small business in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to determine the prospects for the further development of small enterprises in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. It was determined that, in general, the number of small enterprises remains stable, but at the same time, the number of micro-enterprises in the region has significantly decreased in 2021. The concentration from the point of view of administrative division is significant, since 59,6 % of small businesses are located in the Cherkessky urban region. While the number of people hired by small businesses remains the same, there is an annual decrease in turnover, which indicates the likely further degradation of the group of small businesses. A typical problem for the most important industries in which small businesses operate is precisely the constant decline in turnover. Recommendations for further stimulating the development of small companies are presented
